Bactrocera (Bactrocera) paraosbeckiae Drew (in Drew & Raghu, 2002) 2002: 340 .

Material examined: 2♂♂, INDIA, Kerala, Calicut, Maroor, 13. xi. 2012, Devaraj ( NBAIR) .

Diagnosis: Male with epandrium and surstyli inverted U-shaped in outline ( Fig. 5N View FIGURE 5 ) (posterior view). Lateral surstylus (0.1 mm wide) longer than epandrium; posterior lobe of surstylus pointed, curved back, not longer than anterior lobe. Ventral rim of lateral surstylus as long as the dorsal rim (0.2 mm). Proctiger dome shaped and smaller than epandrium ( Fig. 3O View FIGURE 3 ). Medial surstylus tapering towards apex with a pair of thick prensisetae. Phallus 1.8̄2.0 mm long excluding glans (0.40 mm); 0.75 of glans sclerotised with unpatterned praeputium; subapical lobe and basal lobe present ( Fig. 9B View FIGURE 9 ).
