Platynus lyratus (Chaudoir, 1879)

Colpodes lyratus Chaudoir, 1879: 347. Type locality: "Capulalpam, Mexique" (original citation for the lectotype). Lectotype (♂), designated by Whitehead (1973: 200), in MHNP.

Anchomenus pinalicus Casey, 1920: 42. Type locality: "Pinal M[oun]t[ain]s [Gila County], Arizona" (original citation). Holotype [by monotypy] (♂) in USNM [# 47415]. Synonymy established by Whitehead (1973: 200).

Distribution.

This species ranges from southern Utah, eastern Arizona, and western New Mexico south to Oaxaca in Mexico; it also occurs throughout the Baja California Peninsula (Liebherr and Will 1996: 318).
