Diagnosis
Among the genera of Ecliminae , Cyrtomyia shows similarities to Eclimus Loew and Palintonus François , as these three groups lack the strongly developed prothorax that is present in Lepidophora Westwood and Marmasoma White. However , the closest morphological similarities are observed between Cyrtomyia and Lepidophora . To separate these two genera, the bare postpedicel, weakly developed prothorax, male eyes set more closely together ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ), and lack of spatulate scales observed in Cyrtomyia are easy to observe.
