Material examined. Penaeid—5 (1 M, 4 F); size range: 2.25 ≤ CSL ≤ 3.10 mm; average: CSL = 2.49 ± 0.36 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00257.
Stations. Penaeid—1, 3, and 9.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (North Carolina to Florida, Gulf of Mexico), Mexico, Central America, and Brazil (from Ceará to São Paulo). Eastern Pacific—California, and Panama ( Melo 1999).
Ecological notes. Recorded at 54 m ( Veloso & Melo 1993), and 171 m ( Williams 1984).
Remarks. Species normally associated with the Bryozoa Schizoporella unicornis (Johnston) ( Alves et al. 2013) . Megalobrachium walteri Rodrigues da Costa can be considered a junior synonym of M. soriatum ( Veloso & Melo 1993) .
