Material examined. Penaeid—2 M; size range: 0.811 ≤ CSL ≤ 15.33 mm; average: CSL = 8.07 ± 10.26 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00337.
Stations. Penaeid—3.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—Bermuda, Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Antilles, Central America, the north of South America, Brazil (Fernando de Noronha, and from Pernambuco to Santa Catarina) ( Melo 1999).
Ecological notes. From shallow waters to 50 m. On sand, algae, and rocks bottoms ( Melo 1999).
Remarks. The records made by Coelho (1964), as Pagurus miamensis , and by Coelho & Ramos (1972), as P. miamensis miamensis , were later attributed to P. brevidactylus , as its senior synonym ( Nucci & Melo 2007; Almeida et al. 2010).
