Material examined. Petro-UFS—1,148 (31 OF, 56 Her); size range: 6.19 ≤ CL ≤ 13.71 mm; average: CL = 10.07 ± 1.86 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00017. Penaeid—227 (111 M, 116 Her); size range: 5.72 ≤ CL ≤ 15.15 mm; average: CL = 10.85 ± 1.60 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00222.

Stations. Petro-UFS—1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17; Penaeid—1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—from North Carolina to Brazil (from Amapá to Rio Grande do Sul), and Uruguay ( Christoffersen 1979, 1998; Almeida et al. 2007 a).

Ecological notes. Sampled between 5 and 45 m depth. On mud, mud mixed with clay and shell, sand, and calcareous bottoms ( Christoffersen 1979, 1998; Almeida et al. 2007 a).

Remarks. Part of a monophyletic group composed of Lysmata hochi Baeza & Anker , L. vittata (Stimpson) , Exhippolysmata ensirostris (Kemp) , and E. oplophoroides , supported by phylogenetic analysis ( Baeza 2010). Specimens sampled by Santos et al. (2016) were downstream of the São Francisco River, at the border of Alagoas and Sergipe.
