Diagnosis: Body bare, without pubescence or scales; head without dorsal median longitudinal depression and furrow and lateral horns, sometimes weakly concave; with conspicuous epicranial acumination; pronotum cordate, narrowed posteriorly, its base rounded or with angles; elytra with seven to nine longitudinal striae with or without punctation in middle, fine transverse wrinkles occur in interspaces; elytral humerus with or without small denticle; elytral striae so deep that interspaces form costae or carinae; all tibiae without spines along the outer edge; basitarsus of both sexes in all pair of legs partially fused with second tarsomere, tarsal formula 4-4-4; aedeagus uninverted; extant species wingless, metathoracic wings probably absent at least in several extinct species with known elytral fragment (angle ‘elytral base/9th stria’ larger than 90 degrees and elytron ovoid); based on shape of elytra, only T. tubuai may be winged.
