Chorology.

As far as known presently, Stenus schah is endemic to Iran. The new records, which are the first after the description, revealed its wider distribution in the Zagros Mountains.

Biogeographical characterization.

The distribution pattern in both the Zagros and Elburz Mountains (Fig. 12 View Figures 7–12 ) exactly correspond to the Iranian glacial refuge, which is why Stenus schah is an Iranian faunal element.
