Material examined: PALAU (BELAU): Angaur Island , holotype male, 5.ii.1948, Dybas ( USNM 66537 ) . PALAU: Babelthuap Island , Ngaremlengui, light trap, paratype male, 1.vi.1957, C. W. Sabrosky; Ngiwal, Light trap, 1 male, 19 v 1957, C. W. Sabrosky ( BBM) ;

Diagnostic characters: The male imago can be separated from other species of the group by the short gonostylus (HR 3.04–3.06) with an apical crista dorsalis and the relatively large triangular anal point.

Male imago (n = 2–4)

All measurements and ratios within the range of P. forcipata (p. 298) with the following exceptions and additions: Wing ( Fig. 69 D View FIGURE 69 ) length 0.78–0.82, 0.81 mm. Total length/wing length 1.80–2.05. Coloration dark brown. AR 0.98–1.02, 1.01; no strong apical seta. Tentorium 87–94 µm long. Third palpomere 46–50 µm long, with 7 scalpellate or pin-like sensilla clavata; fourth palpomere 46–57 µm long. VR 1.69–1.74, 1.72; VR 2 1.30–1.35 ( Fig. 69 D View FIGURE 69 ). Cu 1 straight. Middle tibia with only 1 apical spine, LR 1 0.53, BV 1 3.67, BV 3 3.17, SV 1 3.46, SV 3 3.17. Anal point ( Fig. 69 G View FIGURE 69 ; Tokunaga 1964 fig. 6c) 25–37 µm long, with setae and microtrichia to apex. Gonocoxite with narrowly triangular inferior volsella reaching to 0.88–0.94 gonocoxite length. Gonostylus 39–43 µm long, with preapical crista dorsalis, megaseta 3–5 µm long. HR 3.05–3.06; HV 3.74–3.91.
