Trechus barbarae G.H. Horn, 1892c: 41. Type locality: "Santa Barbara [Santa Barbara County], Cal[ifornia]" (original citation). Lectotype (♂), designated by Bousquet and Laplante (1997: 705), in MCZ [# 34324].
Thalassotrechus nigripennis Van Dyke, 1918: 304. Type locality: "Moss Beach, San Mateo County, California" (original citation). Holotype (♂) in CAS [# 3286]. Synonymy established by Evans (1977b: 86).
Distribution.
This species is found along the Pacific Coast from northern California to southern Baja California [see Bousquet and Laplante 1997: map 1].
