Lepturges (s. str.) canocincta Gilmour, 1962: 545 View in CoL .
Lepturges (Lepturges) canocinctus View in CoL ; nearns, 1994: 251.
Remarks. According to Gilmour (1962): “Locality: BRAZIL: Prov. Matto Grosso (1886, P. Germain) (1952, Coll. R. Oberthür) ([male symbol] holotype, [female symbol] Allotype, 1 [female symbol] Paratype). Prov. de Bahia, St. Antonio de Barra (1890), Ch. Pujol) (1952, Coll. R. Oberthür) ([female symbol] Paratype). Etat de Goyaz, Jatahy (XII.1897 – I.1898, Pujol) ([female symbol] Paratype. ARGENTINA: Gran Chaco, Rio Salado (Wagner) ([female symbol] Paratype).”
Currently, it is known from Brazil (Maranhão, Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso, and Minas Gerais), Bolivia (Santa Cruz and Tarija), and Argentina ( Bezark 2024, Monné 2024b, Tavakilian & Chevillotte 2023).
What was known as Mato Grosso in 1886, today comprises the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Rondônia. Therefore, it is not possible to know which of these states is the true type locality of L. (L.) canocinctus . As the current catalogs and checklists indicate Mato Grosso, we are considering Mato Grosso do Sul as a new state record.
Material examined. BRAZIL, Mato Grosso do Sul (new state record): Campo Grande, Pioneiros, Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul, Instituto de Química , divisa com Cerradinho, 20°30’23.9”S 54°37’03.0”W, 539 m, “atraído por luz,” 1 specimen (MNRJ-ENT-47625), 04.X.2022, Olivier, R.S. leg. ( MNRJ); GoogleMaps Same data, 1 specimen (ZUFMS-COL-00926), 26.X.2022 ( ZUFMS) GoogleMaps .
