Material. Holotype male, BRAZIL, with the following labels: a) Brazil, Rio de Janeiro: Represa Rio Grande, December 1977 M. Alvarenga; b) Holotype Catulona pensa Rolston ( AMNH, new deposit site). BRAZIL, Espírito Santo: Santa Teresa, 19XII1966, C. Elias, C. T. Elias, 1 female ( DZPR); Rio de Janeiro: Rio de Janeiro, Corcovado, XII 1959, Alvarenga e Seabra, 1 male ( DZPR) ; Paraná: Ponta Grossa, VII1942, 2 females ( MZSP) ; Curitiba, Parolim, XI1937, coll. Claretiano, 1 male (MZSP).
Rostrum reaching the posterior margin of urosternite VI.
Abdominal venter finely covered by short setae, unpunctured; mesial, longitudinal sulcus extending from sternite III to VI; stripe between the spiracles and the abdominal margin smooth, lacking setae, punctures fine to absent.
Male. Parameres. Dorsal margin (dm) of the anterior lobe less sclerotized (fig. 1). Phallus. Vesica opened dorsad; dorsal process of vesica short, its length almost equal to the vesical aperture diameter (fig. 2).
Distribution. Brazil: Bahia, Espírito Santo (NEW RECORD), Rio de Janeiro and Paraná (NEW RECORD).
