Type locality and specimens. Locality.— Iraq, Cuklauva. Two ♂ taken April 21, 1958 .
Dimensions. Length 11–12 mm.
Type material. Syntypes 2♂ ( ZMH-A0000707 , ZMH-A0009226 ). IRAQ: Erbil Governorate (Iraqi Kurdias- tan), Geli Ali Beg [36°37’53’’N, 44°26’46’] .
Preservation. 1 jar: Label 1. Caklavia Geli Alibek 21.4.1958; Label 2. Irak, C. Kosswig leg. Eing: Nr. 9.1958 (imprint).
Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 72, No. 8. Syntypes 2♂.
Type status. Two specimens ♂ are listed in the original publication which are syntypes.
Collection remarks. The specimens were collected by Curt Kosswig (1903–1982), a former Professor of Zoology at the Universität Hamburg.
Taxonomic remarks. Monotarsobius is presently considered a subgenus of Lithobius .
Current systematic position. Lithobius (Monotarsobius) cuklauvus ( Chamberlin, 1958) .
