Type locality and specimens. Fundort [locality]: Atherton in Nord-Queensland [North Queensland], 4 Exemplare, davon eines mit Jungen [one of them with youngs] .
Dimensions. Länge des Körpers bis [body length up to] 85 mm.
Type material. Syntypes 2 ( ZMH-A0000623 , ZMH-A0009326 ). AUSTRALIA: Queensland, Atherton [ca. 17°15’S, 145°29’E] GoogleMaps .
Preservation. 1 jar: Label. Cormocephalus tricuspis Kr. ex typis. Atherton N. Queensland Mjöberg C. VII.14 (Kraepelin handwriting).
Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 67, No. 35. Paratypes 2.
Taxonomic remarks. Weidner (1960: 67) notes: “ Attems 1930, 91, Abb. 97 vielleicht nach dem Hamburger Exemplar [probably referring to the specimen in Hamburg]: Cormocephalus (Cormocephalus) tricuspis Kraepelin. ”.
Collection remarks. The specimen was collected by the Swedish zoologist and ethnographer Eric Georg Mjöberg (1882–1938). The original description mentions four specimens but only two are preserved at the ZMH. The NHRS may hold additional specimens .
