Type locality and specimens. Habitat: Botan. Garten [Botanical Garden] Hamburg aus Westindien [West Indies] .
Dimensions. Pedum paria [leg pairs] ♀ 35. Long. corp. body [length] mm 35, lat. 1,2 mm, [width 1.2 mm].
Type material. Holotype ♀ ( ZMH-A0000543 ). WEST INDIES [ca. 18°14’N, 66°24’W]. The syntype is dis- sected and consists of the original specimen in ethanol and a microslide. GoogleMaps

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 63, No. 28. Holotype ♀.
Type status. Only one specimen is mentioned in the original description and the present specimen is the holotype.
Curatorial remarks. 1 microscope preparation is held at the ZMH (note on file card: “1 Präp. vom Vorder- u. Hinterende stellte R.E. Crabill am 12.5.1960 ein mikroskopisches Präparat her [Anterior and posterior sections placed on a microscope slide by R.E. Crabill on 12.5.1960].”).
Collection remarks. The specimen came from the Botanial Garden of Hamburg and was probably introduced from the Caribbean (formerly known as the West Indies). It was collected by Mr. L. Reifsman. Note that according to the ICZN (1999) (Art. 76.1.1.) the type locality is the West Indies and not Hamburg because the specimen was transported from its original habitat by artificial means .
