Type locality and specimens. S. Thomé, Rolas [ São Tomé, Ilhèu da Rolas ] .

Dimensions. Neben zahlreichen normalen Stücken von ca. 49 mm Leibeslänge ohne die Analbeine und mit Einmass derselben ca. 60 mm liegt von Rolas ein viel längeres, übrigens im Wesentlichen gleich gebildetes mon- ströses Exemplar vor. Die Körperlänge beträgt ca. 90, ohne Analbeine 80 mm. [Beside many normal specimens of 49 mm body length without ultimate legs and 60 mm including them, 1 huge and uniformly structured specimen from Rolas is available. The body length reaches ca. 90 mm, without ultimate legs 80 mm.].

Type material. Syntypes 14 ( ZMH-A0000650 , ZMH-A0009336-9348 ). SÃO TOMÉ AND PRÍNCIPE: Ilhèu das Rolas (island) [ca. 0°00’S, 6°31’E] .

Preservation. 1 jar: Label. Otostigmus inermis Por. muticus [Stein] productus Karsch St. Thomé, Coll. Greef , Mus. Marburg d. 1.IX.1901 Karsch det.

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 69, No. 63. Syntypes 8.

Taxonomic remarks. Karsch (1884) did not give the number of specimens in his description and Weidner (1960: 69) listed 8 syntypes from St. Thomé at ZMH although 14 are actually present.

Additional material. There are syntypes from São Tomé / Rolas Island at the ZMB (no. 926-27) .
