Type Locality: Dem. Rep. Congo, Kasai Prov., Lubondai.

Vernacular Names: Greater Congo Shrew.

Distribution: Known only from type locality in S Dem. Rep. Congo.

Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered.

Discussion: Since the discovery in 1955, this distinct species has not been collected again.
