Zadbimyia viquezi View in CoL sp. n.

Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 A–C

Diagnosis. Zadbimyia viquezi is unmistakable by the parameres having a pair of evenly crescent-shaped processes ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 C). Also, this is the only species of Zadbimyia known to bear a seta on preepisternum 2—an exceptional case in Porricondylinae .

Other male characters. Body length 1.4 mm. Head. Eye slightly narrowed ventrally, eye bridge 7–8 ommatidia long dorsally. Scape twice as long as pedicel. Antennae broken, maximum of 16 flagellomeres retained. Fourth flagellomere ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 A): neck length 0.4 × node length, neck with microtrichia basally. Palpus 4-segmented.

Terminalia. Gonocoxites long, setae sparse ventromedially, ventral emargination broadly V-shaped, with dense short setae laterally ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 B). Gonostylus slender, strongly curved on apical third, excavated dorsomedially, strongly tapered toward apex ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 B). Ejaculatory apodeme longer than parameres ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 C). Parameres ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 C): basal portion elongate-subtrapezoid, apicomedial portion twice as long as wide, shoulders smooth.

Etymology. This species is named after Carlos Viquez, arachnologist and head of the Arthropod Collection at INBio.

Holotype. Male, Costa Rica, San José province, Moravia, Zurquí de Moravia, 1600 m, 5–9 Aug. 2013, handcollected, ZADBI Project ( ZADBI #1071, INBio #107598).
