Comments. This monotypic genus was recorded from Peru (Iquitos, Loreto Departament), near the Amazon departments of Colombia and Brazil. Gorochov (2019) mentions that Perugryllus could belong to the subtribe Brachytrupina , and also with Gryllita Hebard, 1935 , Kazuemba Mello, 1990 , Rubrogryllus Vickery, 1997 , Faguagryllus Cadena-Castañeda, 2011 and Perugryllus Jaiswara, 2017 could be synonyms of Miogryllus Saussure, 1877 and Geogryllus Otte & Perez-Gelabert, 2009 (recently synonymized under Gryllita ( Cadena-Castañeda & García García 2020)) or belong to their subgenera. A second species is described below for Laureopsis , and is recorded for the first time in Colombia and the Andes.
