Similar to the Lonchaeidae , pallopterid larvae live under bark, usually as zoophages or saprophages in association with wood-boring Coleoptera or in shoots and stems of herbaceous plants ( Ferrar 1987; Korneyev 1999). Only one species, Palloptera ustulata (Fallén, 1820) , has been reported from North Africa and Morocco ( Ebejer et al. 2019; Kettani et al. 2022).
