Triaenops auritus Grandidier 1912
Triaenops auritus Grandidier 1912 , Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, 18: 8.
Type Locality: Madagascar, near Diégo-Suarez (= Antsiranana).
Vernacular Names: Grandidier's Trident Bat.
Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Data Deficient.
Discussion: Known only from the holotype. Often included in furculus (e.g., Hayman and Hill, 1971; Koopman, 1993, 1994), but see Peterson et al. (1995). Originally spelled aurita but emended to auritus by Peterson et al. (1995), presumably to agree in gender with the generic epithet.
