Diagnosis. A medium size Solariola (TL: 3.00 mm; BL: 2.45 mm) belonging to the doderoi group with slender body shape. Within the species group, it is easily recognisable by reddish cuticle, small size, elytra slender and suboval to sides. Rostrum quite elongate (RL: 0.40 mm, RW: 0.30 mm, RL/RW: 1.33). Mesorostrum carinae divergent to sides. Forehead convex (FW/MW: ratio 2.30). Submentum and laterally mesorostrum with thick and elongate pappolepida. Antennae quite short but not very robust (SL: 0.50 mm, FL: 0.75 mm, SL/FL: 0.67). Pronotum quite elongate (PL: 0.65 mm, PW: 0.60 mm, PL/PW: 1.08) with few echinopappolepida at base. Elytra sub-oval to sides, dorsally vaulted (EL: 1.80 mm, EW: 0.85 mm, EL/EW: 2.11).
Type series. Holotype female with following labels: [genitalia in DHMF] [transparent label] / ♀ [w, p] / Sor- tino, C.[ontra] da Foresta, 450m, 22 XI 85, Sabella [w, p] / collezione Cesare Bellò, Castelfranco Veneto [g, p] / Solariola hyblensis det. Holotype description. Female. See Figs 7, 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e View FIGURES 7–7 . Elongate body with oval elytra to sides ( TL: 3.00 mm and BL: 2.45 mm). Reddish cuticle.
Rostrum quite short (RL: 0.40 mm, RW: 0.30 mm, RL/RW: 1.33), conical to sides with very expanded pterygium. Epistome absent. Mesorostrum carinae divergent to sides. Submentum with yellowish pappolepida, also partially visible around eyes. Interocular pit visible. Forehead convex (FW/MW: ratio 2.30). Vestigial eyes flat and just visible.
Antennae thin and elongate (SL: 0.50 mm, FL: 0.75 mm, SL/FL: 0.67); AS ratio: 7.6.4.4.2.3.3.11. Scape clubbed, just robust than funicle, just curved at proximal third and progressively thickening towards apex. Funicle long and quite thin; all antennal segments with thin setae. Club three-segmented, compact-oval, in length less than twice the width, densely covered by thin setae.
Pronotum slightly elongate (PL: 0.65 mm, PW: 0.60 mm, PL/PW: 1.08), wider in the back and with echinopappolepida at base. Scutellum visible.
Elytra elongate-oval, rounded to sides, dorsally vaulted (EL: 1.80 mm, EW: 0.85 mm, EL/EW: 2.11), wider at middle with convex suture. Humeri rounded. Striae with 13–14 evident punctures, catenulate, deep. Interstriae little convex with thin setae raised and quite short. Elytral declivity <60 degrees.
