Kamijo from Sapporo , Hokkaido, Japan ( HUM) ; 1 ♀, emerged on 2 April 1957 from a seed of Betula platyphylla var. japonica collected by K. Kamijo from Sapporo , Hokkaido, Japan ( HUM) ; 1 ♀, emerged on 9 April 1957 from a seed of Betula platyphylla var. japonica collected by K. Kamijo from Sapporo , Hokkaido, Japan ( HUM) ; 5 ♀, collected by K. Kamijo on 9 May 1962 from Rumoi , Hokkaido, Japan ( HUM) ; 1 ♀ and 1 ♂, collected by K. Distribution. Japan (Hokkaido); Holarctic. This is a new distributional record of T. nitidulus from Japan.

Host information. Torymus nitidulus parasitizes unknown host in seeds of Betula platyphylla Sukaczev var. japonica (Miq.) H. Hara (Betulaceae) in Japan. According to Graham and Gijswijt (1998), this species is associated with Semudobia spp. ( Diptera : Cecidomyiidae ), gall inducers of Betula (Betulaceae) in Europe.
