Phoebophilus turpis Staudinger, 1899, Deutsche Entomologische Zeitschrift, Gesellschaft Iris zu Dresden 12: 341, pl. 7, fig. 8. Type-locality: [China, Xinjiang] Korla. Lectotype: male, here designated, in coll. MNB.

Lectotype designation.

Lectotype: male, „Korla”, „Origin” (pink label); the specimen was dissected by Boursin (slide No. MB 298).

Remarks.

The types are incorrectly cited by Poole as "2 females", in the original description were mentioned 1 worn male and 2 fresh females.
