Academiei de Ştiinţe a Moldovei, Chișinău, Moldova)—figured by Negru 1979: pl. 16, fig. 11. Occurrence:— Upper Miocene (Messinian = Pontian) ; Europe. Eponymy:—After Pontian, a geological epoch (locus classicus). IFPNI: F64 FC0CF-54C3-DE6E-66C4-F626A36ED81A .
Note:—The Messinian fossil-species was established on the fossil dispersed seeds similar to the extant species E. seguieriana Neck. ( Negru 1979).
