Balkanopetalum sp.

Material examined (all from Bulgaria): 1F, Sandanski District, Ploski Village, Zandana Cave, under stones, guano, 31.05.2000, B. Petrov, L. Nissen leg.; 2 FF, Pernik District, cave near Zelenigrad , 02.05.1972, P. Beron , V. Beshkov leg.; 3 FF, 2 subad., Western Rhodopi Mts., Rudozem District, Boevo Village, Boevskata Peshtera Cave , 1,100 m alt., under stones, 31.07.1999, B. Petrov , V. Beshkov leg.; 1 subad., Gotse Delchev District, Teplen Village, Teplenskata Peshtera Cave , 01.08.1997, B. Petrov leg.

Remarks. The above records, being based on only female and juvenile specimens, could not be reliably attributed to any of the species so far known. Further re­collecting will answer whether we face known or new species of the Balkanopetalum . The two last localities are quite close to the known occurrences of B. graecum .
