Type species. Criotacus brachystegiae Keifer, 1963b: 13–14 .
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; scapular setae (sc) and tubercles on rear shield margin, directed anteriorly, anterior lobe present; opisthosomal annuli dorsoventrally subequal.
This genus consists of 6 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Only one species has been recorded from Southeast Asia.
