Type species. Petanovicia cerberae Boczek in Boczek & Chandrapatya, 1996b: 84, 85.

Diagnosis. Body fusiform; scapular setae (sc) and tubercles ahead of rear shield margin, anterior lobe absent; coxae I and coxae II each with 3 setae; empodium entire; opisthosoma with a furrow.

This genus is monotypic ( Amrine et al. 2003).
