Type species. Leipothrix solidaginis Keifer, 1966c: 1–2 .

Diagnosis. Body fusiform; dorsal palp genual setae d bifurcate; scapular setae (sc) and tubercles ahead of rear shield margin; femoral setae absent from both legs, empodium entire; opisthosoma with middorsal ridge.

This genus consists of 12 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Only one species has been recorded from Southeast Asia.
