Type species. Catarhinus tricholaenae Keifer, 1959: 11–12 .

Diagnosis. Body fusiform; gnathosoma large, abruptly curved and bent down near base; scapular setae (sc) present; femur I setae absent, empodium entire; coxae I and coxae II each with 3 setae; opisthosoma with a ridge.

This genus consists of 11 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Two of these have been recorded from Southeast

Asia.
