Type species. Prothrix aboula Keifer, 1965a: 1–2 .
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; prodorsal shield with paired internal verticals (vi) and paired external verticals (ve), scapular setae (sc) absent; coxae I and coxae II each with 3 setae.
This genus is monotypic ( Amrine et al. 2003).
