Type species. Floracarus deleoni Keifer, 1956: 161–163 .

Diagnosis. Body fusiform; prodorsal shield with short frontal lobe, scapular tubercles ahead of rear shield margin, scapular setae directed backward; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) absent, prosternal apodeme absent; leg tibia reduced or fused with tarsus.

This genus consists of 22 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Four species have been recorded from Southeast Asia.
