Type species. Surapoda artabotrysi Boczek & Chandrapatya, 1989b: 142–143 .

Diagnosis. Body fusiform; prodorsal shield without frontal lobe, scapular tubercles and setae absent; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) absent; leg tibia fused with tarsus; opisthosoma setae e absent.

This genus consists of 2 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Only one species has been recorded from Southeast Asia.
