Type species. Tumescoptes trachycarpi Keifer, 1939c: 337 , 344.
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; empodium divided; scapular setae ahead of rear shield margin; coxae I and coxae II each with 3 setae; first three annuli of dorsal opisthosoma separate and narrow, followed by about 10 fused annuli.
This genus consists of 4 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Only one species has been recorded from Southeast Asia.
