Type species. Acalox ptychocarpi Keifer, 1975b: 11–12 .

Diagnosis. Body fusiform; empodium entire; scapular setae (sc) present, frontal lobe shallowly emarginate; coxae I and coxae II each with 3 setae; dorsal opisthosoma with a furrow, some annuli with projections.

This genus consists of 2 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). One species has been recorded from Southeast Asia.
