Bidens pilosa Linnaeus var. chinensis Linnaeus  , Mantissa Plantarum Altera: 281. 1771.

"Habitat in India orientali. H. U." RCN: 6023.

Lectotype (Veldkamp & Kreffer in Blumea 35: 481. 1991): Herb. Linn. No. 975.10 ( LINN)  .

Current name: Bidens pilosa L.  ( Asteraceae  ).

Note: Sherff (in Publ. Field Mus. Nat. Hist., Bot. Ser. 16: 428-429. 1937) regarded Linnaeus’ concept as so uncertain that he did not adopt the name.
