is common on the Pacific lowlandsof Guatemala.The Alta Verapazrecord isthe second TODO forthe TODO Caribbean drainage(Carteret al.,1966).In addition tothe the specimens cited above, wehave TODO TODO banded 57 in theLa LaAvellana region.At Candelaria,27 were caught and banded on21 August TODO 1974 ata TODO roost containing approximatelytwice that number inthe hollow trunkof ofaceiba tree TODO TODO ( Ceiba pentandra ). The roostwas was predominantly composedof immatures;18 immatureand TODO three adultmales, andsix immaturefemales(age was based onthe richnessofpelage coloration) were banded.At At Las Quechason 25 July 1977,eight males and two females were nettedat ata TODO TODO roost in a smaller hollowceiba ceibatree.Carter etal.(1966)reported thatnine ninebats captured froma TODO TODO roost of 16 wereall allmales.

A pregnant female was bandedat Monterricoon28April andtwo lactatingfemales weretaken at La Danta on 5 September. Carter (1970)suggested that TODO N. leporinus was waspolyestrous. lactating females fromLa LaDanta TODO providethe only record ofthis TODO species breeding during the TODO rainy season in Central America (May-September) when flooding conditions may disperseprey prey over large areas.
