Measurements. Total length 19.7–20.8; total width 11.3–11.8; head length 1.4–1.7; head width 3.5; length of antennal articles I: 0.6–0.9; II: 2.0–2.4; III: 1.6–1.9; IV: 4.1–4.4; V: 3.5–3.6; pronotum length 3.7–4.0; pronotum width 12.0–12.6; scutellum length 9.1–9.3; scutellum width 7.3–7.5.
Diagnosis. Species large (19—21mm) and dorsally green. Pronotum and scutellum with punctuation dark brown and sparser than punctuation of P. polyta or P. irrorata . Corium with few small yellow stains, all veins yellow and extremely branched. Connexivum completely green without spots or callous; segment VII with basal third green, medial third with a distinct oblong black spot, distal third black, sometimes the black part covers distal half partially fusing with oblong spot ( Fig. 12K View FIGURE 12 ). Body ventrally mostly greenish yellow with some parts light green, dark brown narrow lines on the edges of the sternites and pseudosutures. Lateral margin of the abdomen with a green stripe corresponding to ventral part of connexivum. Evaporatorium concolorous. Antennae orange to red. Legs yellow.
Head. Mandibular plates with dark lateral stripe. Tylus with black margin ( Fig. 12K View FIGURE 12 ). Ventral surface yellow. First rostral segment surpassing bucculae in lateral view.
Thorax. Pronotum sparsely punctured, punctures coarse ( Fig. 12K View FIGURE 12 ); cicatrices, delimiting furrows and surrounding calloused stripes concolorous with pronotum ( Fig. 12K View FIGURE 12 ), without spots or punctures. Anterolateral margin pale yellow to greenish yellow; line of concolorous or light brown coarse punctures short, not reaching ½ of the margin. Scutellum with coarse, large, black punctures sparser on anterior half and medial longitudinal line than on remaining parts; lateral punctures small, fine and black ( Fig. 12K View FIGURE 12 ). Corium with all veins yellow. Propleura with brown stripe alongside brown or concolorous fine and dense punctures; green line parallel to yellow margin. Evaporatorium concolorous and slightly rugose with dark spots. Peritreme long reaching 2/3 of the distance between ostiole of the scent gland and margin of the body. Metasternal process light green with arms broad and receiving fourth and part of third rostral segment ( Fig. 12L View FIGURE 12 ).
Abdomen. Connexivum with excavations concolorous, densely punctured only on inner margin; base of lateral spines green. Lateral part of segment VII, corresponding to ventral side of connexivum, green or greenish yellow with margin black. Spiracles on concolorous area. Small brown rounded spot close to spiracle on each segment ( Fig. 12L View FIGURE 12 ).
Male ( Fig. 6A–C View FIGURE 6 ). Pygophore with posterolateral angles slightly flattened and barely projected ( Fig. 6A View FIGURE 6 ). Superior processes of the genital cup small, narrow and curved. Paramere with three processes about the same size and shape, anterior one little bigger than the others; posterior processes laterally curved; dorsal margin flat and bent. Proctiger almost entirely green, short, reaching level of posterolateral angles ( Fig. 6B View FIGURE 6 ); lateral excavation forming dorsally a small crest; dorsal part of posterior face not or barely tumid. Ventral rim medially suffused; expansions barely developed and not tumid ( Fig. 6C View FIGURE 6 ). Ventral surface greenish yellow or light yellow with few suffused stains; punctures fine and concolorous ( Fig. 6C View FIGURE 6 ). Phallus short, distal part slightly developed and slightly bitumid ( Fig. 10G View FIGURE 10 ).
Female ( Fig. 6D View FIGURE 6 ). Gonocoxites 8 convex with lateral margin rounded and posterior margin slightly arched; punctures slightly concentrated on inner half; sutural border contiguous except distally; gonapophysis 8 slightly visible. Gonocoxites 9 large; distal margin slightly rounded. Laterotergites 8 with distal margin black same level of segment VII. Laterotergites 9 with basal part excavated; black apices below the level of laterotergites 8. Capsula seminalis globose, strongly developed; one process long, clearly exceeding anterior annular flange, but two distinctly shorter, barely exceeding anterior annular flange ( Fig. 11G). Ductus receptaculi (tdr) long, clearly longer than capsula seminalis.
Comments. The pygophore in ventral view ( Fig. 6C View FIGURE 6 ) presents several puncture-like stains that should not be confused with punctures. Degradation of internal layers produce theses stains.
Distribution ( Fig. 14). PANAMA: Colón.
