Etymology. This name refers to the pronotum, scutellum and connexivum uniformly green, without brown punctures or stains (Gr. Amiantos—pure, unspotted).

Material examined. Holotype male. COSTA RICA. Limón: Talamanca, Est. Gandoca, 0–50m, 17–20 May 2004, W. Porras, B. Gamboa, D. Brieeño, M. Moraga, Y. Cárdenas, Tp. Luz, L. S. 392600-615500#77070. CRI 000 3844060 ( INBio).

Measurements. Total length 18.8–19.9; total width 10.5–11.2; head length 1.7–2.1; head width 3.2–3.5; length of antennal articles I: 0.7–1.1; II: 1.9–2.3; III: 1.5–1.8; IV: 4.1–4.4; V: 3.6–4.3; pronotum length 3.6–4.3; pronotum width 11.1–11.8; scutellum length 8.5–9.4; scutellum width 6.8–7.3.

Diagnosis. Species large (19–20 mm) and dorsally green. Pronotum and scutellum finely punctured, punctures concolorous. Corium with yellow calloused veins strongly branched ( Fig.12A View FIGURE 12 ). Connexivum completely green without yellow spots or stains; segment VII almost completely black, only basal 1/5 green. Body ventrally pale yellow or greenish yellow with narrow dark brown stripes on the edge of the sternites and pseudosutures. Evaporatorium with a mesial black spot. Lateral margin of the abdomen with a green stripe corresponding to ventral part of connexivum. Antennae yellow to orange. Legs yellow.

Head. Not punctured dorsally. Mandibular plates laterally yellow to orange with parallel black line, inner margin sometimes yellow ( Fig. 12A View FIGURE 12 ). Margin of the tylus dark brown. Ventral surface greenish yellow. First rostral segment clearly surpassing bucculae in lateral view.

Thorax. Pronotum densely punctured, punctures concolorous and shallow; cicatrices, delimiting furrows and surrounding calloused stripes concolorous with pronotum ( Fig. 12A View FIGURE 12 ), without spots or punctures. Anterolateral margin yellow or reddish; line of concolorous fine punctures short, not reaching ¼ of the margin. Scutellum with fine concolorous punctures sparser on anterior half than on remaining parts, anterior punctures slightly bigger than posterior punctures. Corium with all veins yellow. Propleura with dark stripe alongside dark, fine and dense punctures; green line parallel to yellow margin. Evaporatorium concolorous and slightly rugose with dark spots. Peritreme long reaching 2/3 of the distance between ostiole of the scent gland and margin of the body. Metasternal process greenish yellow with arms broad and receiving fourth and most of third rostral segment ( Fig. 12B View FIGURE 12 ).

Abdomen. Connexivum with sparse tiny concolorous punctures; excavated areas concolorous; base of lateral spines green. Lateral part of segment VII, corresponding to ventral side of connexivum, pale yellow with margin black. Area around spiracles green. Rounded black spots close to spiracles on each segment ( Fig. 12B View FIGURE 12 ).

Male ( Figs. 1A–C View FIGURE 1 ). Pygophore with posterolateral angles flattened and slightly projected posteriorly ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). Superior process of the genital cup small, elliptical and narrow. Paramere with posterior processes directed dorsally, small and digitiform; distal process longer than dorsal ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ); dorsal margin flat or gently excavated. Proctiger brown, long, level with posterolateral angles ( Figs 1A, C View FIGURE 1 ); lateral excavation forming dorsally a small crest; posterior face dorsally tumid. Ventral rim dark brown with expansions slightly developed and not tumid ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ). Ventral surface mostly unicolor except by a suffused medial longitudinal stripe; punctures coarse and dark. Phallus short, ventral expansion slightly bitumid ( Fig. 10B View FIGURE 10 ).

Female ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ). Gonocoxites 8 with lateral margin arched, posterior margin straight and dark; punctuation dark concentrated on inner half; sutural border contiguous; gonapophysis 8 not visible. Gonocoxites 9 narrow; distal margin straight. Laterotergites 8 with distal margin black; slightly below the level of segment VII. Laterotergites 9 with basal part flat; black apices clearly below the level of laterotergites 8. Capsula seminalis globose with processes short, barely exceeding anterior annular flange, and uniform in length ( Fig. 11B). Ductus receptaculi (tdr) short, slightly longer than capsula seminalis.

Comments. The reddish color of the pronotal margins is very striking but not all specimens examined show this color, maybe it is only a variation of the yellow.

Distribution ( Fig. 14). COSTA RICA: Limón, Puntarenas, Cartago. PANAMA: Chiriquí.
