Holotype M (with associated larval exuviae): [Poste de] Saut Tigre, [ Sinnamary River ], French Guiana ( NE); coll. G. Senevet and E. Abonnenc; 20 Jan. 1938; no. G.959.
The type series of Cx. comatus (holotype and paratype no. G.959), originally deposited in the LPFM, was established as non-existent by Belkin (1968: 53).
