9. Catamicrophyllum caifanum Verhoeff, 1900 View in CoL

Records from Cyprus. Cyprus [unspecified locality] ( Enghoff, 1995).

Distribution. Israel ( Verhoeff, 1923; Enghoff, 1995), Lebanon, south-central Turkey, eastern Iran, Cyprus ( Enghoff, 1995).

The species is known from Cyprus only from one sample collected in 1862 ( Enghoff, 1995). Its absence from the quite abundant newly studied material supports the assumption of Golovatch et al. (2004) that the species was most likely introduced to Cyprus from the Near East, and might not have established a permanent population on the island.
