Distribution. Collected in July from 350 to 1310 m in Ouest District, Haiti, and Pedernales and Barahona provinces, Dominican Republic, in southern Hispaniola. These areas are predominately composed of scrubthorn vegetation and mixed forest.
Remarks. The abundant, long, black setae of the face, scutum, scutellum, and fore coxae, wholly black legs, absence of scutellar bristles, and combined characters of the terminalia distinguish Ommatius nigellus ( Scarbrough 1997)
