Subfamily Toxocarinae (Hartwich)

Remark: Toxocarines are typically parasites of terrestrial higher vertebrates and the Brazilian records of Porrocaecum spp. are doubtful (Moravec, 1994, 1998). So, all records of Porrocaecum spp. from fishes are likely to be misidentifications of other ascaridiod, probably anisakid taxa, and, thus, can be considered as ‘ Porrocaecum -like’ species.
