Hosts and site of infection: Astyanax altiparanae (intestine), Cichla kelberi (body cavity, intestine), Gymnotus carapo , Gymnotus sp. (intestine), Pygocentrus piraya (body cavity, intestinal caecum, intestine, gall bladder), Serrasalmus brandtii (body cavity, stomach, intestine).

Localities: Três Marias Reservoir, São Francisco River — MG; Baía River—MS; Upper Paraná River— PR.
