LITERATURE. — Green & Sayer (1979); Thonnérieux et al. (1989); Dowsett (1993); Balanca & de Visscher (1997); Weesie & Belemsobgo (1997); Borrow & Demey (2001, 2014); Portier (2002c); Thiollay (2006a); Balanca et al. (2007); Sinclair & Ryan (2010); Dowsett et al. (2013).
FIELD DATA. — eBird; GBIF.
STATUS. — Two subspecies are present: F. p. calidus Latham, 1790, Palaearctic migrant and F. p. minor Bonaparte, 1850 , Resident; Breeding.
REMARK. — The recent records are only from the the Bängr-Weoogo Park of Ouagadugou. Reported as Breeding resident only in southeast of the country by Borrow & Demey (2014) with the subspecies F. p. minor Bonaparte, 1850 . The presence and status of this species in Burkina Faso need further assessment, particularly about the real occurrence of the various subspecies claimed in the literature: F. p. calidus Latham, 1790, F. p. peregrinus Tunstall, 1771 and F. p. pelegrinoides Temminck, 1829.
