LITERATURE. — Green & Sayer (1979); Thonnérieux et al. (1989); Dowsett (1993); Mauvais (1998); Borrow & Demey (2001, 2014); Portier (2002c); Thiollay (2006a); Balanca et al. (2007); Dowsett et al. (2013); Willemoes et al. (2014).
STATUS. — Palaearctic migrant.
REMARK. — The occurence of C. c. canorus is confirmed by tracks of northern European breeding birds ( Willemoes et al. 2014). The presence of the smaller Iberian race C. c. bangsi Oberholser, 1919 needs confirmation, eventually through biometric measurements or evidence of tagged birds.
