Ixobrychus minutus (Linnaeus, 1766)

MUSEUM MATERIAL. — MCCI 3222 .

FIELD DATA. — GBIF.

STATUS. — Two subspecies are present: I. m. minutus (Linnaeus, 1766), Palaearctic migrant. and I. m, payesii Hartlaub, 1858, Resident; Breeding.

REMARK. — Most of the authors refer to the species as a whole. According to Borrow & Demey (2014) in Burkina Faso the species is present with both the Resident; Breeding African I. m. payesii and the Palaearctic migrant I. m. minutus. The presence of I. m. payesii is documented also whith the specimen MCCI 3222.
