FIELD DATA. — GBIF; WABD; XC.
STATUS. — Palaearctic migrant with different subspecies (see Remark).
REMARK. — A recent analysis of African wintering range of the Motacilla flava subspecies ( Ferlini 2020) confirm the presence in Burkina Faso of M. f. flava Linnaeus, 1758, M. f. flavissima (Blyth, 1834) and M. f. cinereocapilla Savi, 1831. According to Borrow & Demey (2014), M. f. thunbergi Billberg, 1828 and M. f. iberiae Hartert, 1921 are also probably present. M. f. feldegg Michahelles, 1830, is known for a single record in Ouagadougu ( Thonnerieux 1990), which requires confirmation.
