Homaloxestis australis Park, 2004 View in CoL
( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 b, 2b, 4b)
Homaloxestis australis Park, 2004: 35 View in CoL . Type Locality: Chiang Mai, Chanthaburi, Thailand.
Material examined. CHINA: 1 ♂, Bubang, Mengla County (21º30′N, 101º29′E), Yunnan Province, 650 m, 25.viii.2005, coll. Yingdang Ren.
Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 b) with wingspan 15.0–16.0 mm. Seventh sternite ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 b) with lateral ribs slightly sclerotized, antero-median rod broad, rounded apically. This species is similar to H. xylotripta Meyrick, 1918 in the male genitalia ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 b). It can be distinguished by the valva with the apex protruded triangularly, the costa roundly convex on the distal 2/3, the ventral margin with a fingerlike process at distal 1/3, and the aedeagus with many thorns and spinules of unequal size. In H. xylotripta , the valva is broadly rounded apically, the costa is slightly arched on the distal 2/3, the ventral margin has an angled, apically pointed process, and the aedeagus has 5-6 Yshaped thorns and numerous small triangularly shaped spines.
Distribution. China (Yunnan), Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam (north).
Notes. Homaloxestis australis Park is newly recorded in China. The female of this species remains unknown.
