Type citation:—“TRAVANCORE. Periakanal: on a steep mossy embankment under trees, 1372 m. A. Meebold, 13,125; Devicolam, 1829 m. A. Meebold, 13,934.”

Type:— INDIA. Kerala: Travancore, Idukki district, Pariakanal [Periyakanal], December 1910, Meebold 13125 (lectotype K 000694956!, designated here).

Distribution:— India, endemic and rare (Kerala).

Notes:—The younger Hooker (1911) described Impatiens verecunda based on two collections from Travancore ‘ Meebold 13125 and Meebold 13934 ’. At present only one specimen of Meebold 13125, K000694956 is extant and is designated here as the lectotype.
